Supervised by Samantha Major, LCSW, LPC, NCC
Adolescent, Adult, Family & Group Therapist

I believe in the healing power of acceptance and empathy. I strive to be empathic, a guide and a partner in my client’s healing.  I do not believe in the “one size fits all” concept in the therapeutic relationship, therefore, I individualize my treatment approach for each client that I serve, pulling from different theoretical backgrounds to accommodate my clients’ needs. I encourage questions, so please ask me as many questions as you need throughout our time together in the treatment process. My primary goal is to make sure my clients feel as comfortable and safe as possible. I enjoy incorporating music and other art forms into my work; especially with teens, because expressive arts can open the windows to the heart.

I attained my Bachelors of Arts in Social Work from Texas Woman’s University, and my Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I specialized in direct practice.

I have experience working with youth, families and individuals. I also have experience in group counseling (psychoeducation, support, trauma and process groups).

Before starting in private practice, I worked with youth that were incarcerated and were part of the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP). I specifically worked with youth who faced challenges with self-esteem, substance use and abuse, family challenges, bullying, and runaways.

I have worked with young adults, adults and elderly who were diagnosed with mental illness and/or addiction. I have experience in helping people with grief, including pet grief, as well as military members and their families. My past work experience includes, the Denton County Juvenile Probation and Detention Center, the Women’s Shelter in Denton, and Carrollton Springs Psychiatric and Rehabilitation Hospital.

My husband and I have been married for 10 years and we have a spoiled, Jack-Russell terrier named Kena.

Thank you,
