Owner of Jessica Callicutt Counseling, LLC

My life experience has led me to pursue a career in counseling and I am passionate about working with individuals as they navigate through their unique life journey.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor in the state of Texas and have had the privilege of working in the mental health field for over 10 years.  I hold certifications as a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, Certified Eating Disorders Specialist and iaedp Approved Supervisor and National Certified Counselor.  In 2016, I was honored to be chosen as a Mom-Approved Therapist and featured in DFW Child Magazine.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Texas Woman’s University.  My training and clinical experience comes from working with individuals and families in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, eating disorder treatment facilities, agencies, emergency shelters, a managed care company  and private practice. My specialties include child/adolescent counseling, play therapy, eating disorder recovery, trauma/abuse and supervision for LPC-Interns, RPT and CEDS certifications.

“Personal growth is a slow and steady process.  It can’t be rushed.  Be patient with yourself.  One step at a time.”                                                                                                                                                                                                 -Noetic Alchemy

I believe that at any age there are times in life when we feel stuck and are unsure of what to do next.   We can become paralyzed by the power of choice rather than feel inspired by the opportunity it brings for reinvention and new beginnings.  When faced with important decisions and significant life events it can feel overwhelming and rather than embracing change we do nothing because it just seems too difficult.  Sometimes, we are challenged to change ourselves when we are no longer able to change a situation.

We do have power and often times more power than we know.  Life does not have to be difficult.  When we release our fears and take responsibility for our own happiness we can begin to experiment within our own lives.  We each have the ability to find creative solutions to our struggles and sometimes that might entail reaching out for support.  It takes courage to begin a journey of personal growth and healing.  Therapy can provide an opportunity for exploration and can inspire you to take the risk to do something you have never done before to find healing and transformation.  The road to restoration can be bumpy at times.  I believe in progress… not perfection, and if it doesn’t work out the first time, that’s okay, because you’ll feel EMPOWERED to take another step and choose a different path.
