"The shoe that fits one person, pinches another. There is no recipe for living that fits all cases." - Eleanor Roosevelt
In the midst of difficult times and challenges, we find opportunity. I believe that the moments we are pushed out of our comfort zone allow for personal growth and healing. I pull from several different approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I find that this creates a unique counseling experience for each client and provides a collaborative environment to explore.
My true passion and specialty lies in helping teens and the family system navigate through this critical stage of development. The things we face in adolescence can be seen as an opportunity to create the sense of self, value systems, and expand skills to aid in the future. I particularly enjoy working with teens that are resistant to change, exhibit high-risk behaviors, and/or have been to treatment before. I like working with those that have been administratively discharged, have left treatment prematurely, as well as those transitioning out of a treatment center setting. My professional experience includes holding clinical positions at all levels of care: inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern in the State of Texas supervised by Kelley Doss, LPC-S. I currently hold a Master of Science degree in Professional Counseling, with a specialty in childhood and adolescent disorders.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions and to schedule an appointment. I am honored to be a part of your journey!
